The next gathering of the Park City Reunion will be Saturday, January 21st, 2012. It will be held at Shoney's on Broadway in Knoxville, from 1pm to 4pm.

We should have more people this year. The Burlington Street Kids Group have also been invited to attend. A lot of them went to Park Junior High School and then on to East High School whereas others went to Fulton. Please help me in welcoming them to our group!

Bob Hickman Passed Away

The last week of September, 2011, we lost a very talented artist from our group. Bob Hickman had only been sick a short while. when he passed away. The art world has lost a very talented man. Bob will be missed. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Next Reunion Tentatively January 21, 2012

We are planning our next reunion for Saturday, January 21st, 2012 at Shoney's on Broadway in Knoxville.
Plans have not been finalized but I will post when it is definite. There are so many people that grew up in Park City that have not attended. If you know of someone who grew up there or in the surrounding area of Knoxville, tell them about this and attend and bring them with you. It is so nice seeing friends from your youth and people that you had just heard of or knew from afar. So many people have made new friends too! I know a lot of people now that I didn't know back then and am enjoying the time so much. Why don't you join us? The time starts at 1:00pm and ends around 4:00pm. I really hope to see you there!!

What a good day we had on September 17th, 2011. We had approximately 38-40 people with several being first-timers!!!  Welcome to Patsy York-York and Louise York Braden, Tommie Young, Doug Dotson, Teresa Kitts Drum, and several others!!  Tommie and I were very good friends and Doug was one of my first friends when I moved here from South Carolina. We were all very glad to see them and hope they will come to the next reunion. We are moving next time in order to have more private room instead of being mixed in with everyone else and trying to use the microphone and make everyone hear over the talking of other patrons. We will meet in January at Shoneys on Broadway but the actual date has not been set until we can check on reservations. Come back and see this blog for the updates on time and date. I will also send out cards and/or emails to remind everyone. If you get an email from "aladyartist" that is me so please read! I have several new names and addresses that want to be notified before the next one. This event continues to grow with each meeting. Hope you'll be one of the ones attending!! Maybe you'll run in to that special best friend that you haven't seen in years or maybe even your first crush!! Join us and see!

SEPTEMBER 17th

It's almost here again.... our Park City Friend Reunion!!  On Saturday, September 17th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm we will gather at Sam & Andy's Deli on Broadway.

Join us and bring others that may have been part of this area and surrounding areas.....Fourth Avenue ....Burlington ...... Happy Hollow...... people from East High School and Fulton High School and lastly but definitely not least... Morgan's Drugstore on the corner of Washington Avenue and Winona!!

Even if we didn't know each other then, we have a lot in common from our youth and so we can be friends now.

NEXT REUNION SEPTEMBER 17th 2011

The next reunion of Park City and surrounding area friends will be September 17th, 2011. It is scheduled to be held at Sam & Andy's Deli on Broadway in Fountain City from 1pm to 4pm. Try to attend if you can. If you know of someone else who is from the old neighborhood, let them know about the reunion and invite them to come! Hope to see you there!

The June 25th, 2011 reunion

What a wonderful day it was... not a lot of people attended but the ones that did attend seemed to have a great time or at least I know I did! I missed seeing a lot of people that usually come but with summer being here I guess people are just busy. But we still had about 20 or 25 people from the old neighborhood.

We will meet again on Saturday, September 17th at Sam & Andy's Deli on Broadway. It is a good place to meet and the food is delicious!

Thanks to Wade Shields for being our emcee, he does a wonderful job and everyone appreciates it!

Our sympathy goes out to the family of Preston Mynatt who passed away a few weeks ago.

We lost a friend last week. Preston Mynatt passed away. May God bless him and his family. He will be missed by his old friends and the new friends he had made through this Park City reunion.

Hey everyone! Our Park City (and surrounding areas) reunion was held today in Knoxville, Tennessee at Sam & Andy's Deli on Broadway. We had approximately 30 to 35 people attend. This is the fourth time in a year that we have met. A lot of old friends are meeting up again after years of no contact. Everyone seems to enjoy talking with friends from years ago and meeting new friends that we really didn't know back then. Some people used to "hang out" at Morgans Drug Store on Washington Avenue and many of them attend this meeting. We all have lots of fun! So if you are from this area and would like to come and join us, then come on out! Our next reunion is Saturday, June 25, 2011, 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Sam & Andy's Deli. We would love to see you!
